Advanced Protocols: Return to Play of Ankle Fracture Techniques and Early Detection and management of External Compartment Syndrome in Athletes is an interactive program designed for athletic trainers and other health care professionals who specialize in the care of all athletes.
COURSE OBJECTIVES Upon completion of this event, participants will be able to evaluate health care performance gaps and integrate new methods and processes into their own practice. Significant time is available to personally interact with presenters.
Learning objectives:
1. Understand ankle fracture repair and surgical techniques with paired return to play protocol2. Perform thorough and specific evaluation for early detection of compartment syndrome of the lower extremity3. Implement progressive and advanced physical therapy of boot ambulatory athlete4. Implement aerobic & anaerobic exercises for compartment syndrome athletes' return to sport
CONTINUING EDUCATIONHouston Methodist Orthopedics & Sports Medicine is approved by the Board of Certification, Inc. to offer continuing education for Certified Athletic Trainers. This course offers 2 hours of Category A CEUS for Athletic Trainers.
